  • On a lovely sunny day in April, I met up with Ria Kitsch, co-owner of Kitsch winery. Together with her husband Trent, they successfully created Saxx underwear company and built then sold it. Their focus shifted to wine, a passion for them both, and the whole family embarked on a journey into the roller coaster ride that is the wine industry, specifically winery ownership. Based out of Kelowna, Kitsch specializes in sustainable organic wines and is marketed successfully to a growing Millennial generation interested in approachable great value options, including cans, which I think is a very astute plan to reach new customers with a lower value buy-in, to check out their products. Ria shared her thoughts on the growing regions in the area, what they specialize in for varietals, and why Kitsch is a very cool place to hang out and have some drinks with friends on a sunny afternoon.
