Sip of Summer Sangria Recipes
What better way to enjoy summer than with these fun red and white Sangria cocktail recipes! Combining fresh fruit, wine and a hint of maple syrup creates the perfect refreshment for a hot summer day.

Red Sangria
Red sangria is a traditional cocktail made in Spain and is very popular worldwide. This classic spiked punch pairs great with roasted chipotle salsa and stuffed jalapeño peppers. Curious about these food pairings? Check out our basic and advanced pairing suggestions to dive in deeper!
Start by adding a bottle of your favorite red wine that is low in tannins – we recommend Volcanic Hills Gamay Noir or See Ya Later Ranch – Poppy Red. Using a wine high in tannins will create a bitter and astringent taste in your sangria, which we want to avoid.
Next, add the fruit. This is what gives the sangria the nice sweetness, fresh taste, and fun summer vibe. Add in a combination of berries, peaches, mango, nectarines, or whatever seasonal fruits hit the spot for you.
Now you can add in the brandy. This step is customizable depending on your preference. For a more traditional cocktail sangria, add your brandy of choice. Want a lighter sangria? Simply add less of the brandy, avoid it altogether, or add club soda to dilute the mixture to your liking.
To taste, adding a tablespoon or two of maple syrup can really tie the ingredients in all together! This sweetener adds a caramel-like flavor, complimenting the wine.

White Sangria
If you are looking for a lighter refreshment, white sangria is the way to go. Dishes that pair well with this summer cocktail are fresh guacamole and seafood paella.
When choosing a wine, try finding a Dirty Laundry Hush White Blend or MOCOJO – Gewurztraminer.
Gather your favorite seasonal fruit, slicing it into smaller pieces. Add in your choice of sparkling soda or substitute for sparkling water, prosecco, or ginger ale based on your sweetness preferences. Finish with adding in triple sec and maple syrup to taste.
